APWU Local 451 Meeting - Saturday, January 25th, 2020
There were 12 members present. The meeting was called to order at 11:08 a.m. Motion by Bill H. and second by Nick D. to accept the minutes as posted. Motion passed. Motion by Bill H. and second by Jody A. to accept the Treasurer's Report as given. Motion passed.
Officer's Report: Sam Reed is now our District Manager. Our RI-399 is at the Regional Dispute Resolution committee. There will be people coming in to decide on this. We have had 4 reversion cases. There will be a retirement and a TSP seminar at Tri-State. Des Moines is hosting. These seminars are FREE of charge and OPEN TO ALL. It is Saturday, April 25th at Prairie Meadows. It will start at 9 am and run into the afternoon. John S. has been appointed the election committee chairperson.

Old Business: Please come forward with any ideas for resolutions. Jody A. asked that we suggest that the clothing allowance include ALL clerks.
New Business: We will have elections at the State Convention. It will take place on April 3rd and 4th. Bill H. motions that we send 3 people with usual and customary expenses. Tami P. seconds. Motion passed. Bill H. nominates Nick D. and Jody A. Lisa H. nominates Bill H. Max W. motions that we send our 3 nominees and John S. seconds. Motion passed. Tri-State is April 23rd to 26th. Jody A. motions that we send 3 people with usual and customary expenses. Sondra M. seconds. Motion passed. Bob D. nominates Jody A., Nick D., and Bob L. Bill H. seconds. Motion passed. You have the ability to request in writing with medical documentation and specifying how much hours you would like to request (up to 240 hours) of advance sick leave. You do need to PAY BACK that sick leave. Send the information to Darren Greer by certified mail or in person. You will not necessarily get the amount you requested. It will take time to pay this back. Any time that you call in until this is paid back is considered LWOP. For the new scanners, is the blue light harmful to our eyesight? We will look into this. Wounded Warrior leave counts as scheduled leave.
