February 22nd, 2020 Meeting Minutes

APWU Local 451 Meeting - Saturday, February 22nd, 2020

There were 11 members present. The meeting was called to order at 11:15 a.m. Motion by Bill H. and second by Sam N. to accept the minutes are posted. Motion passed. Motion by Bill H. and second by Jody A. to accept the Treasurer's Report as given. Motion passed.

Officer's Report: Motion by Bill H. and second by Max W. to do Officer's Report before minutes and Treasurer's Report as Kim K. has to leave (she will finish meeting remotely). Motion passed. Primetime bidding will begin on March 3rd. Those interested in the Retirement and TSP seminars at TriState should preregister. The classes are free. (TriState is Saturday, April 25th at Prairie Meadows in Des Moines.) Jody A. makes a motion and Max W. seconds sending a resolution to State to add a clothing allowance for ALL clerks.

COPA: $18

Old Business: There is a Constitutional Amendment #1 to authorize the Treasurer to also use a credit card. Constitutional Amendment #2 would change the quorum for meetings to be 10% of current membership or a majority of the Executive Board (i.e. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, & 3 Trustees). 10% of the membership is 8 members. 4 members of the Executive Board would be a majority. This is the first reading. There will be a second reading before we can vote.

New Business: We need to change the March meeting. Jody A. motions to change March meeting to the 28th. Max W. seconds. Motion passed.
