APWU Local 451 Meeting - Saturday, May 16th, 2020
There were 10 members present. The meeting was called to order at 11:19 a.m. Motion by Jody A. and second by Bob D. to accept the minutes are posted. Motion passed. Motion by Jody A. and second by Mike B. to accept the Treasurer's Report as given. Motion passed.
Officer's Report: Sam N. resigned as Vice President. Nick D. resigned as Maintenance Steward. Monica Hill is the new Tour 3 Steward. You are required to wear a mask if you can't maintain a 6 foot distance from others. Face shields are available also. Motion to spend up to $5,000.00 for public outreach against privatization of the Post Office by Jody A. and second by Quinten R. Motion passed. We are working on coordinating a caravan on Memorial Day to spread awareness.
COPA: $0 (Meeting was done over Zoom due to Covid-19 so there was no COPA collected.)
Old Business: Constitutional Amendment #1 to authorize the Treasurer to also use a credit card has passed. Constitutional Amendment #2 to change the quorum for meetings to be 10% of current membership or a majority of the Executive Board (i.e. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, & 3 Trustees) has passed. 10% of the membership is 8 members. 4 members of the Executive Board is a majority.
New Business: Nominations for Vice President Special Election. Wendy S. nominates Bill H. We will take more nominations next meeting. Bill H. makes a motion that Kim K. and Monica H. be reimbursed 8 hours each for training with Union LWOP. Jody A. seconds. Motion passed. Jody A. makes a motion to reimburse Kim K. for the webcam in the Union Office. Quinten R. seconds. Motion passed. The Letter Carrier's Food Drive has been postponed until the Fall. There are 2 Mail Processing Assistants. The Overtime Desired List and the PSEs have to be maxed on hours for them to utilize the MPAs.
