APWU Local 451 Meeting - Saturday, June 13th, 2020
There were 10 members present. The meeting was called to order at 11:37 a.m. Motion by Bill H. and second by Jody A. to accept the minutes are posted. Motion passed. Motion by Jody A. and second by Mike B. to accept the Treasurer's Report as given. Motion passed.
Officer's Report: June 23rd is the National Day of Action. It will be in Des Moines at the APWU union hall at 1300 Euclid. Check your W-4s with your withholding due to new tax laws. Please continue to use PPE and sanitize your work area as Covid-19 is still a concern. Kim Karol is giving her 30 days notice and will be resigning as President. A person at the annex tested for Covid-19. They are waiting to see their test results. Sondra Morrison is giving her 30 days notice and will be resigning as Secretary.
COPA: $0 (Meeting was done over Zoom due to Covid-19 so there was no COPA collected.)
Old Business: Second Nominations for Vice President. Bill H. declines his nomination. Bill H. nominates Rodger Reiseck. Sondra M. seconds nomination. Rodger Reiseck accepts the nomination. Rodger R. is the new Vice President as there were no other nominations. Hawkeye Labor Council is holding a golf tournament fundraiser. A flyer is posted on the board. Bob D. has raffle tickets from the cancelled MDA bowl-a-thon. State Convention will be at a meeting hall or over Zoom. Social Distancing will be observed. More details will be discussed at the next meeting.
New Business: We are still waiting on negotiations for the LMOU.
